    Some call it an ethical ethos of transparency - others say it’s a chronic case of oversharing. Either way, Luna & Rose is a sustainable jewellery and apparel brand built on openness, proud to share every element of our process because we can confidently stand by it. Your presence in our about section tells us you’re curious about who we are and what we stand for, so let us take you back to where it all began.

    Luna & Rose was lovingly forged in 2014, with the goal of designing a collection of accessories that have minimal impact on the environment, uplift the community where they are crafted and become a shiny symbol of conscious consumption doned by like-minded ladies (aka magpies) around the globe. 

    Based in the lush tropics of Bali, we are able to ensure this process from materials through to makers and work closely alongside a team of talented craftsmen and women. After extending our collection into the wonderful world of apparel, you can add kind-to-skin natural fibres and plant-based dyes onto our list of pros. 

    A significant part of our sustainable mindset is creating pieces that last a lifetime - not flash in the pan trends you’re embarrassed to wear after one season. With a design ethos centred around love, laughter, freedom and not taking life too seriously, we capture these wonderful moments in forever gems you’ll be handing down to your grandchildren. If they can pry them from your leathery hands, of course. 

    And it just so happens that there is an enormous community of people who also care about how their wardrobe is made, not just how it looks. And boy are we chuffed to have found you.

    Fashion has always been my passion, but whether I was being schooled at University in Wellington or dipping a toe in the Australian scene, something didn’t sit quite right. There was so much unknown when it came to how materials were sourced, processed and transformed into the racks on racks of fast-fashion trends and no one seemed to be asking the hard questions. 

    After a fair amount of soul searching, globe-trotting and an international game show appearance, I was ready to make my mark with a label that was transparent, ethical and sustainable. The game show didn’t really have anything to do with that, but I couldn’t not slip that in am I right. 

    Though based in Bali, I’m a wanderer through and through moving between New Zealand, Australia and the home of Luna & Rose. Basically, I just go around juicing the best bits out of life, eating a hearty diet of lollies and salt ‘n vinegar chips and dipping into that pool of inspiration to design beautiful pieces for you to enjoy. Don’t mind if you do.
