Who was Ruth Bader Ginsberg AKA RGB?

An absolute boss, Ruth Bader Ginsburg was the second ever woman to serve on the US Supreme Court – And continued to do so for twenty-five years. Throughout that time she was determined to ensure equality for ALL was served in all and any decisions. Ruth was a leading voice for gender equality, women's interests, civil rights and liberties, often speaking publicly to raise awareness around these systemic issues.

    Where did Ruth come from?

Ruth was born and grew up in Brooklyn, New York.

What inspired Ruth to get into her line of work?

Ruth Bader Ginsburg spent her life fighting for women to be treated equally.  In doing so, she became an inspiring role model for women and girls all around the world.

Her passion for women’s rights began when she was a young adult struggling to land herself a job. Even though she was smart, determined, and capable of doing the job, she was passed over multiple times primarily because she was a woman. She felt like she was being treated unfairly, or discriminated against, only because of her gender.

Even at a young age, this did not sit well with Ms. Ginsburg she was determined to do something about it. She knew the inequality of this treatment was wrong, and if it was happening to her, how many other females was this happening to? Stumping their start in life to get a career happening? At the time she was suffering from this, there were no laws in the United States to protect her against what was happening.

After a stint in Sweden Ruth returned to the USA and discovered just how many laws advocating for women’s rights were missing. She decided she was not going to accept things as the were. Ruth decided that she would help invent laws, write them, and defend them. Ruth would also become a professor to help other women to become lawyers so that they could do the same thing.
